On Jan 25, the 2024 Spring Tea Party for bio-industry entrepreneurs in the Optics Valley of China (OVC), also known as the East Lake High-tech Development Zone, took place. Over 300 entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts from the OVC's bio-pharmaceutical industry gathered to take part in the event.
Representatives from companies such as Humanwell and Lefoss shared their research achievements and discussed their business goals and development strategies for 2024, displaying strong confidence and determination.
Innovation and internationalization are the focus of Humanwell. Since 2020, the company has maintained the launch of one innovative drug each year for three consecutive years. Currently, it has more than 350 products in the research and development phase.
As one of the leading companies in the global industry of reproductive health, Lefoss achieved an industrial output value of over 2.8 billion yuan ($390.04 million) in 2023, representing a year-on-year growth of approximately 69 percent.
During the event, a special appointment ceremony was held for 160 industry experts in specialized areas, such as small molecule drugs, biologics, cell and gene therapy, medical devices, biotechnology, CXO, and investment.

With 15 years of development, Biolake in the Optics Valley of China has grown into a bio-pharmaceutical industry cluster worth hundreds of billions. It houses over 3,000 bio-enterprises, of which 85 are nurtured companies with a scale of over 100 million yuan, and seven are listed companies. It has also gathered nearly 100 national and provincial-level innovation platforms.
