Optics Valley Laboratory announced the launch of its Photonic Sensing Platform during the OptoStar · Excellence CEO Scenario-Driven Matchmaking Conference on April 14. The platform will serve over 300 institutions and is expected to generate more than 10 billion yuan ($1.47 billion) in output.
The platform is a collaborative effort involving Optics Valley Laboratory, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University, Wuhan University of Technology, and leading local enterprises. It will feature four major research centers, establishing a comprehensive innovation chain that includes chief scientists, center directors, principal investigators, engineers, pilot testing, and small and medium-sized enterprises.
Focusing on testing certification, technological breakthroughs and result implementation, the platform will develop six key modules: light source and radiation standards, device and material characterization, imaging chip testing, optical system testing, extreme condition simulation, and simulation verification. It aims to become the nation's only world-class full-chain infrared chip imaging and system testing platform.
As the main hub of China's optoelectronic information industry, the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC) has developed a strong industrial ecosystem and innovation chain, enhancing its position in the global industrial landscape.
The Photonic Sensing Platform aims to become a leading national public service platform, providing essential support for the advancement of the optoelectronic industry in OVC.
